University of Humanistic Studies ranks highly in the National Students’ Survey

Students at the University of Humanistic Studies are overwhelmingly satisfied with their education programme; this is indicated by the results of the National Students’ Survey of 2017. For 14 out of 17 themes they assign their study programme a higher score than the national average of all universities in the Netherlands, just like in previous years. Especially the lecturers are appreciated highly.
This extensive survey is held annually among students to see how they value the quality of education programmes at universities and other institutes of higher education. Students at the University of Humanistic Studies award their programme an overall score of 4.22 on a scale of 5. The general ambiance at the institution receives a 4.57, and a vast majority of students would recommend the programme to friends, family or colleagues.
Around 37 percent (192) of the Bachelor’s and Master’s programme in Humanistic Studies and the Master’s in Care Ethics and Policy completed the questionnaire. The students answered questions on themes such as ‘content’, ‘general skills’, and ‘preparation for the professional career’. The results are used for the independent comparison site www.studiekeuze123.nl, jointly set up by the Dutch government and the institutes of higher education. This site allows prospective students to compare education programmes, based for example on students’ opinions as gathered by the national survey.
