About Gerda van Dijk
Gerda van Dijk was Professor of Organizational Ecology at Tilburg University and Professor of Public Leadership at the Free University, where she was also director of the Zijlstra Center. Gerda is also an independent consultant, guest lecturer and speaker specializing in leadership and organizational development. She approaches leadership, organizations and society from an ecological perspective in which dynamics, coherence and continuous change are important keywords.
"Especially when things get exciting with big issues and uncertainties, leadership is called upon. For me, that is not leadership that gives immediate answers, but leadership that takes uncertainty as its starting point. The UvH offers the space to be innovative in that, precisely at a time when the need for more humane organizations is growing rapidly," Gerda van Dijk said of her arrival at the UvH.
