International Exchange Program in South Africa for our Bachelor students
The primary aim of the Global Leadership Summit (GLS) is to exchange ideas and international experiences in addressing salient issues around diversity, racism, racial integration, social justice and reconciliation in Higher Education. The main program components include:
- A campus-based program for all international delegates, introducing them to UFS challenges
- and successes, followed by dialogue in small diverse groups
- Faculty – and/or Departmental-based programs (lectures, research seminars, meetings to discuss possibilities for collaborative projects)
- Dialogue sessions organized by the division for Student Affairs
- Visit to the rural UFS Qwa Qwa campus
- Excursions aligned to GLS objectives and showcasing of South African culture
Students will be placed in an international group of Bachelor student-delegates from the UFS and from more than 15 universities in the United States, Europe and Japan. All participating students will be housed in UFS residences, sharing with a GLS delegate or UFS student.
The University of Humanistic Studies will sponsor the international travel costs of 5 selected UvH Bachelor students. The UFS will sponsor local program costs, including 2 meals per day during the official GLS program. In addition to 5 UvH Bachelor students, 1 or 2 UvH staff members will participate as mentor.
